BMC provided construction monitoring of the structural elements for the interesting 3 storey building designed as backpacker accommodation incorporating typical amenities including bar and café/restaurant facilities.

Ground conditions on the site required special attention to the foundation construction to ensure the design was correctly implemented.

Structural walls are constructed from a combination of reinforced masonry and pre-cast concrete panels with a plaster and natural schist stone cladding.

The suspended floors are constructed from precast concrete rib & timber infill system supported on structural steel frames and the attic style roof structure is supported by structural steelwork with timber framing intermediate members.
