Intermediate and Senior Structural Engineering Technicians

We’re looking for driven Structural Engineering Technicians who are passionate about solving problems and helping create amazing projects.

This role presents an opportunity for motivated individuals to make a significant contribution to our business, working collaboratively with a team of highly skilled and knowledgeable engineers across our busy Christchurch, Wanaka and Invercargill offices.

The Role

We’re looking for technicians with initiative who can work independently. We require the candidate to work collaboratively with the design team, engineers, architects and contractors to produce the best solution and resolve any issues. Technicians will also be involved with site visits and inspections with help from engineers.

We work on a diverse range of challenging projects for clients throughout New Zealand. We undertake engineering design of new residential and commercial buildings, construction monitoring, earthquake assessment, and design of seismic strengthening, including work on heritage structures. The primary focus will be to successfully plan and complete assigned modelling projects within agreed budgets and deadlines, consistent with company and project standards. The ability to consistently produce quality documents in agreed time frames will be key to successfully perform this role.

The Candidate

We are looking for enthusiastic and capable individuals who possess the following qualities:

  • Upwards of 3+ years of proven experience working as a Structural Technician in a consultancy environment.
  • Excellent Revit knowledge and experience is essential.
  • Intermediate to advanced technical knowledge and attention to detail.
  • Project experience in building structures (concrete, steel, timber) across commercial, residential and industrial projects.
  • The ability to work independently when required.
  • Enthusiasm and a passion for the construction industry.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with others including across functional groups.
